59 popular Chinese app is now banned in India !!

After the Galwan conflict, calls for a boycott of Chinese goods have come from various quarters.  Many also demanded uninstalling the Chinese app on social media.  Walking that way, the center banned 59 Chinese apps like TikTok, UC Browser, Bigo Live, Helo, Share-it.  Those apps can no longer be used on any type of gadget including mobile, tab.  The decision was taken in the interest of the overall security of the country and the allegation of misappropriation of personal information.  Concerned quarters say centre's decision will have a major impact on the Centre's decision.

There have long been complaints from various quarters that users' personal security is being compromised and a lot of personal information is being stolen through these Chinese apps.  That allegation was further intensified after the Indo-Chinese military clash in Galwan.  Even the Central Ministry of Information Technology has received such complaints from various quarters.  After that, the center took this drastic step.

Under Section 69 of the Information Technology Act, the Ministry may use its powers to ban any app.  The 59 apps have been banned following the implementation of the law, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information Technology on Monday.  Through these apps, it has been decided to block these 59 apps in view of the impending danger to India's sovereignty and unity, the protection of the country's defense states .

There were also fears that Beijing could launch a cyber attack after the Indo-Chinese military clash in the Galwan Valley.  It was feared that India's internal security information could also be hacked through the Chinese app.  The center has received several complaints regarding this concern.  The statement said: "The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has received numerous complaints from civil society regarding security, personal information and privacy concerns."  It will also protect the interests of millions of internet and mobile users.  It was further said that this step was taken keeping in mind the security and sovereignty of India's cyberspace.

However, according to a section, by canceling the app without canceling the Chinese product, was a strong message sent to China at all, or was it just a warning to the Chinese dragons?  According to another section, however, the app was banned and the message was given first.  If Beijing does not show restraint, New Delhi may take a bigger step in the future.

However, cyber experts and economists agree that the banning of so many apps in one fell swoop will hit China's IT sector.  Because, many of the 59 banned apps are very popular in India.  One of them is Tiktok.  In India alone, the number of users of this video app is more than 60 crore users.  And in the first quarter ending in March this year, the number of users of this app exceeded 150 million worldwide.  According to experts, it may cross Rs 200 crore by the end of the current quarter.  Apart from this, the number of users of apps like Helo, UC Browser, Bigo Live, Bigo Video, MI Video Call, Clean Master is not less.  If banned in India, all these apps will lose a huge number of users in the country.  Naturally, it will have an impact elsewhere.

However, it is not yet clear how these apps will be blocked.  In the case of India, it will be removed from the Android Play Store and Apple's App Store, or if downloaded, they will not work — or will be blocked in some other way, the Center did not say.  Other than that, it is not clear what will happen to those who have already downloaded it to their phone, tab or any other gadget.  Again, many of these banned apps are inbuilt on Chinese phones.  It is unknown , what can be done in that case where people buy a new Chinese phones preinstalled with these apps .
