Throughout 2020, Bollywood is like a death march. This time ‘Masterji’ Saroj Khan took leave. Bollywood is not getting time to forget mourning!
On June 20, Bollywood was shaken by the news of Saroj Khan's admission to the hospital. On behalf of the family it is said, everyone was relieved of temporary worries as the situation was reported to be stable. July 2 proved that peace of mind lasted for two days. Amitabh Bachchan, Remo D'Souza, Anupam Kher, Manisha Koirala, Manoj Vajpayee, Ritesh Deshmukh, Tapsi Pannu, Sunil Grover, Neel Nitin Mukesh, Kunal Kohli, Hanshal Mehta, Ahna Kumar's tweet is full of grief.
Tired of seeing one death after another, Big B tweeted, “Kneel with both hands. But the mind is restless. ” . Manisha Koirala twitted "This is a sad news early in morning..since childhood I was trained in indian classical dance..it was she who taught me film dance once I joined films..(which I had zero knowlage of). I had the pleasure of being Choerographed by her in Aladin. One tick off my bucketlist ." Tapsi Pannu is relieved to think that she got close to Saroj Khan in a dance scene. That remained an invaluable asset in her life. Manoj Vajpayee wished peace to the soul of the late choreographer. Depressed Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Woke up to the sad news that legendary choreographer #SarojKhan ji is no more. She made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry. May her soul rest in peace " In other words from every corner of Bollywood , everyone is paying their last homage to her incomparable service for the industry .
On June 20, Saroj was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra with shortness of breath. Although there were no other symptoms, she was tested for Covid-19 due to shortness of breath. The report of that test came negative. Her breathing problems were mainly due to the cold. On June 24, the family was informed that her condition had improved despite observation.
But Saroj did not return home from the hospital. She died late Thursday night after suffering a heart attack. She was involved with Bollywood for almost four decades. She has choreographed more than two thousand songs. She made her Bollywood debut in 1974 with the choreography of Gita Mera Naam. After winning the national award three times, Saroj has worked in one film after another. In 2019, she choreographed Madhuri Dixit's song for the last time in the film 'Kalank'.
