The son-in-law killed his mother-in-law and committed suicide. The incident took place on Monday afternoon at an elite residence in Fulbagan police station area. According to the police, the accused son-in-law's name is Amit Agarwal (42) and the mother-in-law's name is Lalita Anunia (60). Amit was in a divorce case with his wife Shilpi. The artist lived in Bangalore. Before killing his mother-in-law, Amit also killed his wife. Police found out about the matter from his suicide note recovered from the flat. When contacted, Bangalore police confirmed the matter. The artist's body was reportedly found in a flat there.
The initial idea of the Bangalore police is that artist Agarwal was strangled to death. When contacted by the Bangalore police, they said the decay started when his body was recovered from the artist’s flat on Monday evening. Initially, the police thought that the artist was killed within 24 to 48 hours after seeing the decomposition of the body.
On the other hand, it is initially known that both Shilpi and Amit are chartered accountants by profession. They lived in Bangalore. Initially, Kolkata police detectives said that Amit had used a six-pointed revolver at his father-in-law's house in Phulbagan. They claimed that at least four rounds of bullets were fired at the flat in Phulbagan.
According to police, Amit's father-in-law Subhash is a businessman by profession. He lives in the aristocratic Rameshwaram residence on Ramakrishna Samadhi Road in Phulbagan. His flat on the third floor. Amit suddenly appeared at his father-in-law's flat around 5.30 pm. It is learned that 60-year-old Subhash started arguing with Amit over a property issue. Subhash's wife Lalita tried to stop the quarrel. Initially, the police came to know that Amit fired at Lalita during the altercation. Lalita was shot at close range. Lalita was shot and fell on the floor. At that moment, Subhash left the flat. He closed the door of the flat from outside and took shelter in a neighbor's flat.
Police said Subhash called Phulbagan police station from the neighbour's flat. Police reached the spot and opened the door of the flat and saw Lalita lying in a bloody state inside and Amit a little distance away. After a preliminary investigation, the police suspect that Amit killed his mother-in-law with the same pistol. Police also recovered a suicide note from the house. It is learned that Amit went to Bangalore and killed his wife.
According to police sources, his wife Shilpi has not been in a relationship with Amit for almost two years. Divorce case is going on. On the other hand, Subhash's son works in Vindhya. He has been informed. The incident is being investigated by Fulbagan Police Station Officer and Detectives of Homicide Branch of Kolkata Detective Police.
